HAIR & TATTOO FAQ:

How many sessions are required?

Number of sessions will vary per person and are dependent on color of ink/size of tattoo. The same can be said for hair removal, number of treatments may vary on size of area and color of hair. Generally, for hair it could be 4-12 sessions and for tattoo up to 12 sessions. Please understand that your tattoo may not disappear entirely and in some cases it may only fade. Difficult colors such as greens or black that is mixed with purple/green may require additional sessions.

How often can I be treated?

Hair: For treatment to be most effective, you should be ready for your next session every 4-6 weeks. This is the most active growth phase which will allow us to maximize treatment on the active follicles in the area.

Tattoo: The laser treatment breaks up the ink in your skin and your body does a lot of work afterwards. Your immune response system will continue to work for 6 weeks after treatment so it is not necessary to do your next treatment prior to that.

Does it hurt?

People describe the laser tattoo removal sensation as similar to being slapped by a rubberband. Everyone has a different tolerance for pain so there isn't one simple way to describe the sensation. However, we can provide a numbing cream to help ease discomfort.

What should I do for aftercare?

Hair: Some redness and swelling of the area is normal after treatment and may feel similar to a sunburn. This should resolve within several hours to a few days after treatment. Here are a few tips to manage your skin after treatment:

  1. Apply ice packs or cool compression to ease any discomfort

  2. Gently clean area twice daily with a mild cleanser

  3. Avoid irritants for seven days after treatment

  4. Apply a 30 SPF UVA/UVB sunscreen daily

  5. It is rare to develop blistering, but if it does happen DO NOT pop the blisters. Please call our office so we can evaluate you.

  6. Drink a lot of water

Tattoo: Some redness and swelling may occur after treatment and may feel like a sunburn. The swelling may last for a few hours while the redness can last up to 10 days. Here are some things you can do to manage your skin after treatment:

  1. Apply ice on and off for the next 24 hours

  2. Do not tan the treated area. Avoid sun exposure to lessen the risk of hypo/hyperpigmentation.

  3. Please apply a broad spectrum 50 SPF sunscreen to treated area, even if the area is covered by clothing.

  4. If blistering occurs DO NOT pop! Apply Aquaphor and let them pop naturally.

  5. Drink a lot of water

What should I do before my treatment?

  1. It is very important whether for tattoo or hair removal treatment that you DO NOT tan (or sunburn) for at least 2-4 weeks prior to your appointment. This includes spray tanning, tanning beds or tanning cream/oil.

  2. Growing your hair out does not make it easier for treatment. We ask that you shave the area to be treated before coming in. DO NOT wax or pluck area before OR after treatment.

  3. Being consistent with the treatment plan is the key to achieve the results you desire. Laser Removal is not a "one and done" deal. Following proper aftercare tips and returning for treatment at the proper intervals will be the key to success in treating your body.

  4. It is recommended that you do not use antibiotics or topical prescriptions 7-10 days before treatment; no Accutane for 6-12 months before treatment, and no Botox or fillers for at least 14 days prior to treament.

MICRONEEDLING FAQ:

Micro FAQ

What does a treatment feel like?

Once the skin is numb, you may feel light pressure that tells you the device is doing its work. Most people find the treatment to be comfortable with virtually no pain or downtime.

Does it hurt?

Personalized Compounded Numbing Cream, the best numbing cream available, is applied 30 to 45 minutes prior to the treatment to ensure a comfortable patient experience throughout the treatment. Many testimonials from patients say they found the treatment to be in a range of comfortable to virtually pain-free. The Vivace was designed with patient comfort in mind.

How do I determine the right treatment for me?

It's important to work with a trusted doctor who uses FDA-cleared devices to give you a confidence in its safety and efficacy. Seek a patient experience that has been designed to be the most comfortable experience with the greatest results. Be clear that the device used is only part of the process: the right serums and recovery system will enhance your results.

How long does it take?

The actual treatment takes about 20 - 45 minutes depending on the area, with an additional 30 minutes needed for numbing.

What is my recovery time?

Physicians may choose to supplement the treatment with serums and recovery protocols that create optimal results and faster recovery. By using the right products, our clients are ready for a night out with very little to no indication of any treatment that day.

What is RF?

Radio frequency provides heat that stimulates collagen production which has been found to lead to tighter, younger-looking skin.

How many treatments do I need?

Most physicians find that 3 to 4 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, provide the optimal experience for patients. While the results are often immediate for skin tone and texture, there is also improvement over a three-month period as the process of collagen regeneration increases over time.

When can I wear makeup?

Most patients go out within hours after the treatment with no makeup at all. To maximize the combination of open channels, use our Soothe Weekly Mask and Soothe Recovery System. We recommend at least six hours before you apply makeup.

How do I get the maximum result from my treatment?

Start with the right device, the right treatment serum, coupled with the right recovery system. Follow the recommended recovery protocol once you get home, which consists of our Soothe Weekly Mask and the Boost Glide Serum. Additionally, abstinence from the sun and three to five days off from working out and you are well on your way to maximizing The Vivace Experience for yourself. Multiple treatments are recommended for optimal results.

What kind of skin does it work on?

Most skin colors can be treated, including tanned skin and dark skin.

How long does the result last?

Everyone is different, the collagen you make is your own and continues accelerated production over three months. Results improve over time.
